Whinmoor win Under 18s League Cup!

Two extra time goals from Lewis Pierre and Lewis Hindley gave Whinmoor a deserved but hard fought cup victory against a gallant Chapeltown FYDC side. In miserable conditions on an uneven Whitkirk pitch, the first 90 minutes ended goal-less before Pierre got on the end of a through ball to lob the first over the keeper half way through the first period of extra time, and, in the failing light two minutes from the end, a Hindley free kick from out wide deceived everyone and crept in at the far post, to confirm the second cup win for this team in two years, and this teams fourth league cup win overall (See pictures here). The team now have three fixtures to clinch the league and cup double. 29/4/09
