U8s v. Wigton Moor Great end to the season for our U8s against Wigton Moor, who were probably the best team we've played this season. We came away with 2 victories 5-0 and 3-1, a 3-3 draw and a narrow 2-1 defeat. MoM's were Bradley, Archie, Lucas and (WoM) Sophie! Brilliant 1st Season for us, well done to everybody who's played, let's stick together and go again next season!
U9s v. Knaresborough (Cup S-F) The dream is over! Our U9s worked hard against high flying Knaresborough, but a slow start led to Whinmoor going 2 behind early on and a second half goal ended the contest. In the other game Whinmoor were on top early on but a lucky goal put us behind and another was conceded in chasing the game. In the games afterwards the lads stood up well with a great 1-1 draw in a very physical game. In the last match it was tight until the last minute when the opposition scored 2 to make it 4-1. Their coaches said you have improved since the last time we played them so well done.
U13s v. Pannal Sports Our under 13s fine form stuttered a little after the losing out at Pannal Sports, in what was their third game in a week. Two goals from Kyle Farrar and another from Cameron Liddell weren't enough to stop the team sliding to defeat. Bailey Mannion once again showed fine form.
U14s v. Pannal Sports U14s travelled to 100% men Pannal Sports today, so it would have been a tough test with 11 never mind 9. However following a great start it wasn't long before the extra couple of players made their mark. For the first half Whinmoor matched the champions and it was Whinmoor who created the best chance in the opening exchanges with Jack Fordham's effort been smothered by the keeper. Once again the players where fantastic and a credit to themselves, most of them playing in unfamiliar positions. Thanks lads.

U8s v. Pannal Ash Tigers Another cracking show from our u8's today. Clean sweep again, 4 comfortable victories against Pannal Ash Tigers. 4-0, 5-0, 7-2 and 10-1! Its a shame the season ends next week as the these lads (and Sophie) are getting better and better every week! MoM's today were Taylor, Nathan, Abhik and Kieron.
U9s v. Beckwithshaw Cracking afternoon watching the U9s against mid - table rivals Beckwithshaw. An unlucky 2-1 defeat and 2-2 draw made up league results. Followed up by narrow 2-1 and 3-1 defeats that could have gone either way. Now moaning the pitches are too hard! Hope they soften up just a little for next week's semi final. Cian and Bailey deservedly picked up the MoM awards. Well done everyone.
U13s v. Wigton Moor (Cup SF) A stunning result for our under 13s as they strode into their first cup final. Starting without any subs, Whinmoor found themselves a goal down at the break, but in the second half Cameron Liddell followed up his own shot, and when the keeper spilled it, he put Whinmoor level. Lee Davies was brought down in the box, and Kyle Farrar, cooler than a polar bears pyjamas, put the penalty away to send Whinmoor into their cup final! Watch this space for all the details - we want a big crown to see these lads round off a fine season!
U14s v. Pannal Ash What difference a week makes with no wind! Superb display today away to Pannal Ash. Jack Atkinson switched from centre back to centre forward and cracked in 2 beauties. Sam Wilson opened the scoring with a Premier league quality free kick the went up and over the wall. Keenan and Max were again solid at the back and Dan caused havoc in the pannal defence. Ben Vickers shone in the middle after a week or two off. All in all a great game of football, and not to mention Connor Fury back in net and cool as a cucumber pulled of a couple great saves. Josh, Jack, Liam, Callum and Charlie all played great but no one could split the MOTM split between Keenan and Jack Atkinson.
U17s v. Wigton Moor Ath (Cup QF) Whinmoor shocked their top-flight opponents early on when Joe Welsh followed up his own shot to nod in the opener. 9 minutes later, Billy Hayes cracked in one of the goals of the season to give Whinmoor a deserved 2-0 lead. Wigton pulled one back before the break following a free-kick, but Whinmoor were good value for their lead. Wigton started the second half stronger, and put our lads under a bit more pressure, but Whinmoor still had chances to make the game safe. James Neale was outstanding in the Whinmoor goal, but two defensive lapses let the visitors in to pinch the victory. Callam Gartland took the MOTM, but everyone on the park today put their heart & soul into it.

U11s v. Lawnswood YMCA The U11s continued their recent great form by taking the honours away at Lawnswood with two wins (3-0 and 4-1), a draw (1-1) and one defeat (0-3).
U13s v. Ilkley (Cup) In one of their finest results yet, Whinmoor Under 11s marched into the cup semi finals with a comprehensive win over Ilkley Juniors. In the face of a howling gale, Whinmoor worked hard to keep a clean sheet in the first half, but still had the woodwork to thank for a 0-0 half time scoreline. The second half saw Whinmoor apply the pressure, and after the first from Cameron Liddell, our boys finsihed up 4-0 winners, with Cam getting another, and Ellis Ayo and Callum Farrar completing the scoring. The result was harsh on Ilkley, who worked hard all the way through.
U14s v. Ilkley Our under 14s lost out narrowly in another wind-affected game with balls flying all over the place, mainly off the pitch. A determined Ilkely side turned up looking for revenge from their last visit and took a 2-0 lead into the 2nd half. Whinmoor battled well in the 2nd half. Max Bisset coolly placed a free kick into the top corner from 20yards. Whinmoor struggled to break down a nervous Ilkley defence, despite hard work from Keenan, Max, and Lucas who took one for the team today and played through the pain barrier and looked quite handy at full back! Another solid performance from Dan in the middle but it was Jack Atkinson who ran his socks off earning the MOTM
U17s v. Horsforth (Cup) After finally getting the game played at the 4th attempt, Whinmoor moved through to the next round in an epic battle. Whinmoor dominated the early exchanges, with Cam Wallace and Billy Hayes giving them a 2-0 lead, but a lack of concentration let the hosts in to pull it back at the break. The second half proved eventful, and Horsforth turned the scoreline round to 3-2, before Billy smashed in a second to make it 3-3. Whinoor looked like the only ones who wanted to avoid penalties, and Billy completed his hat-trick before Cam 'Aguero' Wallace put the icing on the cake.

U11s v. Boroughbridge Our under 11s had a great result, beating Boroughbridge in 3 matches (1-0, 3-0 and 3-0) and narrowly losing out in the other (2-3). The team are starting to string some results together now, and the future looks very bright for them!
U13s v. Kirk Deighton Whinmoor U13s continued their great recent form by beating Kirk Deighton 7-2 at home, with Kyle Farrar and Lee Davis grabbing a brace each, and Bailey Mannion, Cameron Liddell and Ellis Ayo getting the others.
