I kid you not, the minute the Under 10s finished playing it stopped raining! Thanks for all the efforts of kids and parents who endured torrential rain for 90 minutes up at Powerleague. A sickness bug ruled out 2 players late on but the 12 we had were superb. My poor maths split 12 lads into a 5 and a 7 so we struggled in the first game a man short and were well behind at half time, but came back well to draw the 2nd half. Josh B, James and a loaned player netted and new boy Dylan deserved his Man of The Match with a calm passing display. In the second game they won 8-7 with plenty of great performances. Goals from Kieran (3 stormers), James (3) and Noah (2) did the business. Pannal Sports kindly lent us a decent player which made for a cracking game, with Cameron fitting into the team really well and grabbing the MoM from Kieran. Tom's lads had 2 close games and were brilliant in the first game and lost out 5-4 after the opposition sneaked some deflections. Not sure of the scorers but will find out. I know Tom was chuffed with how they played and Cian was superb and picked up the MoM. A narrow defeat followed in second game but more good play ensued, despite playing 6 against their 7. I saw Ethan's belter from the half way line and JP's goal but Ben picked up the MoM. He continues to improve and is a key part of the side.

Our U14s had their second cup semi final in a week against Rothwell Town, and came up trumps with a thrilling 4-3 win. If Mark had any hair left, he'd have torn it out as Rothwell drew back to within a goal before time ran out. Cup final at Whitkirk on 6th April - let's see you all there!

What a way for our Under 15s to start the New Year with an 8-0 taming of the Ilkley Pumas! Only the pitch conditions stopped the score from reaching double figures plus some dodgy shooting in front of goal! Brilliant team spirit in the team ATM and the addition of Mason & Mikey has strengthened the team. Both marking their debuts with a goal apiece. There was an opportunity to switch a few players around today which paid off with Vickers grabbing himself a cheeky hat trick. Max opened up the scoring with superbly taken free kick then nipping in with cooly taken header. Fordham Smashed one in from close range after another good performance. But the pick of the goals had to be the screamer from Mason Boom Boom from the edge of the box. A pleasure to see the team gel together so well and pick up from where they left off in December. Once again this is a team game and everyone played their part today tireless efforts from Callum, Charlie, Aidan, Keenan, Dobbo, Josh and Connor keeping a clean sheet. Well done lads great performance.

Our U14s went out of the county cup today after cruelly losing in a penalty shootout to Brighouse Sports. Manager Mark Johns said "I am so proud of everyone! In the 1st half away team kept the ball well, but all through the 2nd half and extra time our keeper didn't have a save to make, as Whinmoor were so dominant. With the score still goal-less after extra time, penalties were inevitable. Unlucky lads, as we were the better team !"
