Our under 8's finally played a game at Skelton Woods today against Pannal Sports Hawks. We played really well, winning three matches and drawing one. There were really good performances from the team as a whole and and every player individually putting in a huge effort. We won 5-0 and 2-1 showing lots of character to come from behind - all 7 goals from Tyler! The other team won 2-0 and drew 1-1 the goals coming from Freddie and Leighton.

Knaresborough were fantastic opponents for the our U10s, with another decent morning's football. The lads I saw worked really hard in the first game and it was pretty tight with a second half goal equaliser from the superb Ethan ensuring a 1-1 draw. Some decent performances in a physical game and great saves from Bailey. Dylan deserved his MoM for some magical passes and key tackles. In the second game, they went one nil down but allegedly Noah equalised. I didn't see it go over the line but all our lads said it did (Knaresborough disagreed) and despite Ben scoring, some had a 10 minute sulk so we were 4-1 down at HT! The second half was much better with them pouring forward and passing it around. We were back to 4-3 with Josh G's and Bailey's goals but couldn't equalise with the post denying them twice. Josh B was great in the second half in goal and Bailey was immense in covering every blade of grass so picked up the MoM. Tom's boys were up all night partying with Vinnie Jones so were slow out of the traps. Lewis Ha. netted but we were second best and JP's saves were evidence of this. A deserved MoM for our great keeper. The second game was much better and the passing and pressing was back in evidence. Tom had a few players in mind for the MoM which showed how well most people played but Lewis Ho. just snatched it and nearly nicked a winner too, along with a few others. Kieran and Bradley got the goals in the 2-2 draw.

An early start for our U14s to set off for Ripon, and the less said about the first half the better. 3-0 down. That'll do. The second half was much better, with Lee, Jake (with a screamer), Bailey and Kyle (with a brace) causing a complete turnaround to give Whinmoor a fine 5-3 win. Kyle's second was so good, the Ripon players applauded it! Fantastic result against a team which used to hammer us every time.

Our U15s had a stuttering start again and were a goal down before they woke up. The fightback came a little too late and we ended up running out of time after Max curled in a superb free kick giving the keeper no chance midway through the second half. Callum somehow latched onto Masons free kick by the flick of his hair minutes later making a frantic end to a very good game. Aidan, Jack and Josh all worked hard for the team and the defence once again looked solid at times. Mikey was unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when clear through on goal after a great run in the closing stages. Keenan just did enough to pick up the players MOTM award. Final Score 2-4.

It was an unusually low scoring day for our U9's yesterday, as a well drilled and very disciplined Ilkley side visited. We finished up with 2 wins (1-0 and 2-1), a 2-1 defeat and a very rare 0-0!! Defences were excellent from both sets of players, MoM's were Kieron Bradley and both goalies Daniel and Luke. 2 goals each for hot shots Bradley and Callum.

Great lunchtime games for our U10s . Our progress continued with another game against a Division A side, Beckwithshaw, who were topping our mini cup group. Played some great stuff in the windy conditions and as a bonus managed to grab 3 wins. Tom's lads came flying out of the traps and Noah scored within 30 seconds and they didn't stop chasing the opposition down and creating chances. More goals followed from Noah (2) Josh G, Lewis & Ben with just two conceded. Josh picked up the MoM. The second game was tougher but a great JP cross and superb Lewis finish put us ahead. We were pegged back but sneaked a last minute winner from Josh G. Ben R collected the MoM for his composed performance. Stuart's lads played very well in game 1 but were unlucky to lose out 1-0. U9 Nathan was a fantastic late call up and got the MoM. Great player. Thank you! The lads then ended their day on a high note with some great play leading to goals from James, Kieran, Brad (2),Bailey and Ethan and top defending meant a clean sheet. Kieran got a well deserved MoM. The lads continue to improve.

Our U14s breezed into the semi final of Harrogate & District Cup, eventually seewping Bedale aside, 10-1. At half time it was only 2-1, after our lads raced into a 2-0 lead, but Bedale fought their way back. The second half was a differenty Story, as Whinmoor moved up a gear and starting hitting the back of the net with alarming regularity. Kyle led the goalscoring with 4, and Jake, Bailey, Koby, Lee, Cameron and Dylan saw our boys home. At the back, Dom was excellent! The semi final will be played against Thackley on 13th April at Skelton Woods. Lets roar the boys on to another final!

Our U15s were involved in a hugely important game today against local rivals Wigton Moor and came out on top with a nervy but crucial 2-1 win! We were superb in the first half, not giving the opposition any space or time and hardly allowed them out of their own half. Max eventually got us off the mark with a bullet header after a perfectly placed corner from Jack. The same man doubled the lead shortly after with a peach of a free kick that swerved in the air and flew in just under the bar giving the keeper no chance and taking us in 2-0 at half time. Wigton Moor came out fighting in the second half and we didn't seem to have the same fight and commitment as the first half! This led to Wigton moor grabbing an early goal of their own with a sweet volley from a corner. The lads rallied and defended solidly as a unit to hold on for the win. Max put in a great captains performance at the back and the rest of the back four were immense as always. Callum and Adam ran tirelessly in the middle with Mason and San battling hard as well. Jack closed down well and made some excellent runs of his own along with the other wingers. Liam may not have grabbed a goal for himself (for a change) but he showed he's a team player by endless chasing of through balls and closing defenders down and also set up a couple of chances for other players. Deserved MOTM for Connor who was loud and won every ball that came his way. Well done lads!

Pannal Sports Tigers visited this morning and left empty handed as our U9's claimed 4 hard fought victories despite being a player short, playing 2 of the 4 games with 6 players and Pannal insisting on playing with 7. We won 4-1, 4-1, 3-1 and 7-1. Goals for Aaron(5), Bradley(4), Lewis(4), Callum, Ashton, Billy, James and Kavelle. MoM's went to Billy, Bradley, Connor and Ashton. Big effort trophies went to Aaron and Nathan. Well done boys, you all put a massive amount of effort in today in heavy conditions.

Our U10s took on Ilkley and took a great, fairly late victory in the 1st game. 2-0 up and comfortable from from Noah and Ben's goals, quickly turned to 2-2 early in the second half but a late surge produced some lovely play and 3 goals to make it 5-2, with Noah, Ben and James netting. Ben was superb for his MoM and involved in much of the great passing. Tom's lads lost out on the heavy pitch 2-1 but their manager didn't know how and playing football against their long ball was a good new challenge for the lads. Brad picked up a goal and the MoM. The roles were then reversed. A cracking game saw a 5-3 defeat with two late Ilkley goals after clawing back the game from 3-1 down. Noah leapt to nod in a header from an amazing Ben cross and Kieran and Josh got deserved goals. So nearly got back in the game late on. Really pleased and James got the MoM. What a player. Tom's lads raced out of the traps and were quickly a few goals up and kept up the great performance to win 6-1. He was so pleased with how they played and I couldn't help looking and saw some magical unselfish play. These lads are starting to grow up and their sporting behaviour and teamwork was a credit to them. Goals for Mason (2), Brad, Cian and Ethan (2). Lewis MoM. Never loses a tackle!

The U15s went to the table toppers at the crack of dawn although the result didn't go our way, there were loads of positives to take back home. Knaresborough showed why they were unbeaten so far this season playing some neat football, and it wasn't until Whinmoor found themselves 2 down before they started to play themselves to compete with them. Whinmoor at times showed they can compete at this level even though they had awarded 3 penalties against them (anyone would think it was Old Trafford!). The defence for most of the game stood solid, Liam ran his socks of up front but it was Charlie who stepped into midfield who looked most likely to grab a consolation goal late on. Dan, who had a chance taken off the end of his nose, also worked hard for the second game running. Mason was unlucky with his free kick in the last few minutes just clipping the crossbar. A massive game to come next away at Wigton Moor. MoTM Charlie .

It was a tough away trip to Wetherby on Sunday for our U9's. It was our first game on grass for nearly 3 months, and took a while to get into our stride but came away with 3 draws (1-1, 1-1 and 2-2) and a 6-3 defeat. Goals for Bradley(3),Callum(2), Nathan and Billy. MoM's went to Josh Daniel Bradley and new Goalie Luke on his league debut.

Our U10s took a little step up in class today but you'd hardly have known it and had we had two full teams we could have had a couple of wins. Tom's 6 players turned in a right display and their manager admitted we were the better team but narrowly lost out 2-0. Everyone was superb, but Cian is class at mo and picked up the MoM. In their second game they were a few goals down early on but from getting one of their men just before HT, the game was even and was lit up by some great skills along with the hard graft. Brad's skills had their manager drooling so a well deserved MoM. Stuart's 7 players were 4-1 down at HT which seemed a little unjust after Dylan's first goal for the club brought us back in the game at 2-1. Superb play and 2 goals by Kieran got the game to 4-3 but their team scored some absolute scorchers to take it away from us. How we didn't win the second game, who knows but we missed loads of chances and they scored when they broke away. Bailey made it 1-0 but we lost 2-1. Dylan MoM for some great tackles. Some great stuff today.

It was like the first day of the season again today, after the weather lay-off, and out U14s had a tremendous 6-0 win in 2nd round of League Cup against Kirk Deighton. Josh saved a penalty at 0-0 but then Ellis went and scored a belter, which prompted Lee Davis to casually knock in a quick hat-trick, with good work by Cammo, who also scored. Josh Haigh finished up the scoring after following up a really well hit shot from Max. Dom was class again the whole team played well.

The U15s climbed off the foot of the table today with a massive 3-2 win at home to Ilkley. Whinmoor knew what was a stake and started as if they meant it, battling for every ball. Every player outfought his opposite number and a clumsy tackle inside the box gave Whinmoor the opening they needed. Max stepped up with one waft of his hair then cooly slotting the penalty past the keeper! Liam then had another chalked off for narrowly being off side. Whinmoor continued to apply the pressure and when Liam picked up the ball he cut inside from the left at pace sliding the ball low in the bottom corner. Whinmoor created further chances when Charlie's mazy run produced a peach of a ball across the box and Mason was on hand to grab the third. Once again a superb effort from everyone Max n Keenan were solid at the back and Adam held the midfield with Mason n Callum, Dan did a great job breaking up play just behind Liam who ran tirelessly up top with support from Mikey Josh n Jack covering the flanks. Aiden and Connor took knocks but had been valuable whilst playing. Keenan snapped up the MoTM.
