26th October - round-up
Our Under 11s continued their fine form with an excellent 9-1 victory over Stanningley.
19th October - round-up
Our Under 9s were undefeated against Pannal Sports Hawks, with two wins and two draws.
Our Under 10s suffered their first defeat of the season (1-5), but not after winning the first game 4-0!
A thrilling district cup win against higher division opposition for our Under 11s, with our lads beating Rothwell Town 4-3 after extra time!
Our Under 16s bowed out to cup favourites Farsley Celtic 1-3.
12th October - round-up
Our Under 11s continued their improvement by avenging their defeat against Tingley with an emphatic 7-2 victory.
After giving themselves a mountain to climb by conceding in the first two minutes against a strong Pannal Ash side, our Under 16s were always chasing the game, eventually falling to a 2-0 defeat.
One of our very own - James Turner, who has played and managed for our club over the years - has accepted a job in the USA, spreading the good word of 'Soccer' over there. The club wants to express its thanks and admiration for a young man who has done nothing but good for our club, and he goes with all our very best wishes.
Unfortunately, this means that Whizz-Kidz has been left without a leader, as we haven't found anybody good enough to fill James' very large boots. So, therefore, we regret to announce that Whinmoor Whizz-Kidz is going into hibernation for the winter. We hope to re-start in the spring, so watch this space....
More bad news, I'm afraid. For a number of reasons, it has been decided that our Under 15s will withdraw from the league with immediate effect.
Manager Mark Johnson has thanked all the lads who have played over the last 5 seasons, and is heartbroken for it to have ended in such a way, especially after last season, when they reached two cup finals and played some spectacularly good football.
5th October - round-up
Our Under 9s slipped to 3 defeats and a win against Ilkley.
Our Under 10s welcomed Kippax, and continued their goal crazy start to the season with 7-1 and 10-0 victories
In a novel experiment, our Under 11s side was picked by the players. They obviously have more about them than the grown ups, as they beat Osset 9-0 to notch their first win of the season!
