| 11th September 2011 | Harrogate Railway Braves | 3 |
Whinmoor Juniors | 3 |
| League | Kay (2), Bird |
Whinmoor visited a very windy Harrogate for the first match of the new campaign. The Team where in high spirits and ready for the challenge ahead. Whinmoor started brightly and and within 10 minutes Kay was taken down in the area and Danny Bird scored from the spot. The wind made the long ball game difficult and the match went from end to end before a great through ball from King gave last season's top scorer Nathan Kay his first goal of the season. With a 2-0 lead some poor passing and weak marking gave Harrogate the advantage and it wasn't long before the home side dominated the midfield leaving the half time score 2-2.
The 2nd half saw Whinmoor starting brightly but Harrogate where determined to capitalise on the home advantage though Conor Robinson proved more of a match and continued to challenge and make surging runs from defence. And after 12 minutes Kay got his second of the game and the campaign giving Whinmoor back the advantage. Whinmoor had shots from Gartland, Whitaker and Bird but couldn't find the edge to overcome the swirling wind. Nevertheless, with a minute to go they were looking at their first win of the season before a high ball carried in the wind landed kindly for Harrogates forward who was quick to take advantage and leveled the score at 3-3. The final whistle came within seconds of the re start and a point apiece looked the fair outcome. Man of the match was Conor Robinson playing in his first match for the team. (Posted - 12/9/11 IG)
| 25th September 2011 | Whinmoor Juniors | 3 |
Killinghall Nomads | 7 |
| League | Kay (2), Farrar |
Whinmoor where slow to get started and conceded a penalty early on. This caused their heads to drop and were having to battle to keep in the game.33 minutes in Nathan broke through to score a superb individual goal but Whinmoor where relieved to hear the half time whistle trailing by 3 goals to 1.
The second half showed the return of the old Whinmoor passion and within 2 minutes of the second half Nathan stepped up again onto a great through ball to make it 2-3. This rallied Whinmoor and Woody hit a great shot from distance to make it 3-3. Whinmoor where dominating the second half when Jack landed awkwardly and injured his back. This stopped the game for at least 10 minutes and an ambulance was called. During this time Casey received a hard hit ball in the face and saw another Whinmoor player heading to casualty. Within minutes Callum had limped off with a recurring injury which gave Killinghall a 3 man advantage which they used to dominate and end the game with a 7-3 victory. Ray Taylor battled throughout was deservedly man of the match.

| 2nd October 2011 | Leeds Maccabi | 6 |
Whinmoor Juniors | 3 |
| League | Kay (2), Sutherland |
Whinmoor met their old foes with a depleted team and struggled throughout the match with Meadowcroft and Gartland struggling with injuries picked up the previous week. Long balls through to Kay saw him pick up another 2 goals but even with the return (for a one off appearance) of Sutherlands screamer from the edge of the box could not stop Maccabi from driving through a weak Whinmoor midfield.
James Neale was unlucky to see 6 past him as he made some tremendous saves and deservedly man of the match. (Posted - 9/10/11 IG)
| 9th October 2011 | Whinmoor Juniors | 4 |
Otley Town | 11 |
| League | Kay (3), Gedge |
Whinmoor were hoping for the inclusion of two new players to put the results of the past few weeks behind them. It started well with Kay hitting the net after 9 minutes, but Whinmoor failed to control the midfield and had long spells of fierce defending. Challenges where lacklustre and Otley took advantage getting another 2 goals befor Nathan Kay again showed his killer instinct scoring from a great 1 on 1 with the keeper. Half time 3 – 2 to Otley.
The second half again showed lack of concentration and before long Whinmoor where trailing by 7 goals. Though scoring ability was there as Kay got his hat trick and Karl Gedge got his first of the season and new man Ben saw his header bounce of the cross bar. Nathan Cheetham showed some great attacking but also defensive support for his first game and the score did not reflect the effort the forwards where putting in. BUT the midfield must focus on taking control and reading the game. Too many times we watched Otley attack the ball and surge forward without one challenge.

| 16th October 2011 | Amaranth | 9 |
Whinmoor Juniors | 0 |
| Cup |
Whinmoor came up against an unbeaten Amaranth side who where scoring high numbers of goals in every match. Whinmoor saw the return of Jack Rothera, last seen being driven off in an ambulance 3 weeks ago.
And some good play with goal opportunities from Kay, Parker, Whitaker. Defensively work to do but King, Neal and Guy all stopped goals on the line and Conor Robinson received a deserved man of the match following tireless performance.
The final score of 9 – 0 took away from a strong Whinmoor performance (Posted - 17/10/11 IG)
| 23rd October 2011 | Whinmoor Juniors | 4 |
Wetherby Athletic | 0 |
| League | Kay (2), Whitaker (2) |
Whinmoor came into this home game still awaiting their first win of the season and some tactical changes where made to build on all the work that has been going on in training.
From the start of the first half Whinmoor took control and the midfield started to not only pass confidently but cover and defend where required. King, Gedge and Taylor were instrumental in moving the ball around midfield.
Wetherby are a strong team and made us work hard. James Neale was called into action to make a couple of good saves until a poor clearance from the Wetherby keeper was met by Jordan Whitaker who smacked a screamer from 25 yards which hit the top corner of the net to make it 1-0 on 18 minutes.
The first half ended on 1-0 with both sides having opportunities but Whinmoor were a different side today and ready to battle.
The second half opened as the first and the battle in midfield was paramount in the game. And Whinmoors work paid off with Kay getting his first on 13 minutes,
before fell to Whitaker again just outside the D and he made no mistake as he powered the ball in the back of the net to make it 3-0 Whinmoor.
Wetherby where having their chances but on the occasions they battled through an organised midfield they found Conor Robinson stadning tall, and he didn’t miss a header all game.
Then they had James 'The Cat' Neale who saved from 14 shots on target to give himself a first clean sheet. On 29 minutes, great work from Taylor and King saw Gedge put a great
through ball for Kay who went round the keeper. Two defenders took him wide, but fast feet saw him through them and calmly slot the ball between the keepers legs.4-0 Whinmoor final score.
As a foot note whilst Jordan Whitaker got the man of the match, all the team shone through today and showed what they can do. New men Parker and Cheetham looked comfortable and organised in their positions and the way the team talked encouraged and supported each other was what won the game. (Posted - 23/10/11 IG)
| 30th October 2011 | Pannal Sports Panthers | 3 |
Whinmoor Juniors | 2 |
| League | Kay (2) |
Whinmoor arrived at Pannal full of confidence after last weeks win. The match also showed the return of Callam Gartland and two new signings in Joe welch and Kadeem MacFarlane.
The game started brightly with Whinmoor taking control and it wasn’t long before Kay hit the back of the net to put Whinmoor in front. The battle in midfield was paramount and great passing gave Whinmoor the advantage and shots from Whitaker, Gedge and King kept the Pannal defence busy. Mid way into the first half and Kay got his second of the game. Lack of concentration let Pannal in on goal which Rothera only delayed it's journey into the net. Kay had two more shots on target but the Pannal Keeper had them both covered. Half time 2-1 Whinmoor.
The second half saw Pannal putting the pressure on and Whinmoor began to tire on a heavy pitch. And 12 minutes in it was 2-2. Whinmoor regained control but could not find the back of the net. Kadeem proved well worthy of his £5 transfer fee and pushed and organised through the centre alongside Karl Gedge. Welsh also showed his worth with confidence and tenacity to chase the ball down but a defensive mistake let a loose ball get picked up to make it 3-2 Pannal.
Karl Gedge, who weaved his way in and out of trouble all day showing some ‘UNBELIEVABLE TEKKERS’, earning him ‘Man of the Match.
It was pleasing to have the referee come over at the end of the game and congratulate the team on their conduct and standard of play. 3 points lost but a great performance. (Posted - 30/10/11 IG)
| 6th November 2011 | Whinmoor Juniors | 1 |
Hartshead | 4 |
| League | Kay |
Whinmoor played hosts to Hartshead in the county cup. The game started well but it was easy to see that Hartshead where an organised and fast team which would keep us on our toes.9 minutes in, a low shot from Hartshead to the bottom right corner was gathered by Jack to only see it kicked from his hands and trickle over the line. This was the first of many poor decision for both teams as the rules of the game were inconsistently followed. Marking was our downfall and watching the ball rather than the man saw a corner headed in to make it 0-2 at half time. Whinmoor in true fashion came out fighting and within 3 minutes a penalty was awarded for a pull in the box and Kay made no hesitation in hitting the back of the net. 1-2 and back in it. Whinmoor continued to press but Hartshead kept coming but Jack was back to his full form and made some incredible saves. A poor clearance let Hartshead strike a rebound and Jack had no chance of stopping it hitting the top corner. Chances wher still coming for Whinmoor but couldn’t get the final result and another goal from Harshead sealed it making the final score 1-4. Jack was a deserved man of the match and the result did not reflect the score as the team showed some inspirational passing and runs from Meadowcroft and Robinson as well as some good through passing shows how the team is coming together. | 13th November 2011 | Wetherby | 7 |
Whinmoor Juniors | 4 |
| League | Kay (2), Gedge, Gartland |
We knew it was going to be a hard game today against a strong Wetherby side and within seconds of the kick off our defence were put under pressure and James was called upon to make some great saves. This continued, but the attacks where 50/50 as Whinmoor pressed and the hard work paid off when Kay got his first of the game on 15 minutes. A tight midfield with some great passing put Karl Gedge in to score on 24 minutes after showing some good tekkers. Wetherby continued to press and following a corner and indecisive clearance the ball came back in and was turned over the line by Meadowcroft. Another Wetherby goal brought the 1st half to a close at 2-2. Only three minutes in to the second half and Kay got his second and Whinmoor took the lead again. Wetherby pressed and another OG gave Wetherby their third but a scorcher of a free kick from Gartland brought it back to 3-4 Whinmoor. Another goal came soon after to make it 4-4 Wetherby. Wetherby continued to put pressure on and three consecutive blocks from Guy as well as super saves from Neale where keeping us in it before a very harsh penalty decision for handball given against Taylor who was pulled back and fell on the ball. Whilst Neale got a hand to the spot kick, the ball went in making it 5-4 Wetherby. Wetherby hit another to go 6-4 but a handball in the Wetherby box gave Whinmoor a penalty which was blocked by the keeper and Welsh was unlucky to not get the rebound. There were chances for Whitaker, Kay and MacFarlane, but we just couldn’t find the net. On 34 minutes a looping cross dipped to find the Whinmoor net making the final score 7-4 Wetherby. Man of the Match was Aidan Guy (Posted - 13/11/11 IG)

Bedale | 10 |
| League | Gartland |
A very foggy day saw Whinmoor play host to Bedale. This was the first meeting of the two teams and was a tough game. Within the first 5 minutes a fast paced Bedale had five shots on target, but James Neale stood tall in goal and made some great saves. On 9 minutes Bedales relentless attacking payed off making it 0-1. This lifted Whinmoor and on 13 minutes Gartland hit another scorcher to make it 1-1 and Whinmoor began to step up a gear and were matching Bedales work rate. The defensive line were working hard but poor concentration from the midfield left gaps which brought on another Bedale on slaught and by the half time whistle it was 1-3.
The second half started as the first had ended but Whinmoor just didn't get into the game and a number of players dropped their heads. The back four work rate was excellent but the relentless attacking made gaps which Bedale exploited. Even with a dozen spectacular saves by Neale who earned man of the match the final score was 1-10 to a well organised Bedale.

| 27th November 2011 | Amaranth | 9 |
Whinmoor Juniors | 1 |
| League | MacFarlane |
The game plans for today were hold ground and keep the ball. A goal would be a bonus. A very defensive Whinmoor held ground for all but 1 minute before they went down 0-1, But then they remembered their roles and held Amaranth at bay and fought hard before Amaranth made it 0-2 on 17 minutes. Amaranth were given a penalty on 22 minutes but James Neale read it well and dived low to his left to make the save and parry away the rebound. Tireless defending and harassing from both the defence and midfield made the next two goals hard for Amaranth and cracks started to show. A mistake from there keeper let MacFarlane in on goal and he made no mistake in hitting the net with his first goal for the team. A tough first half finished at 1-5.
The second half started well and an unlucky o.g. on 12 minutes gave Amaranth their 6th goal. Whitaker threw himself into every tackle and attack and was a deserved winner of the man of the match. Guy and Meadowcroft both made great saves off the line but as Whinmoor continued to attack and made 7 breaks on goal they could not regroup quickly enough on the counter attack to prevent another few goals from Amaranth. Final score was 1-9 Amaranth but the best performance from Whinmoor U16s.

| 4th December 2011 | Whinmoor Juniors | 1 |
Amaranth | 16 |
| League | Gartland |
Again our game plan for today was to hold ground and keep the ball. A goal would be a bonus. A very defensive Whinmoor held ground for all of 1 minute before they went down 0-1 from a very hesitant defence. Neale was great in goal again and Guy made a tremendous goal line clearance coming from nowhere to tip the ball over the crossbar as Amaranth where celebrating a goal that never happened.
Unfortunately they had 16 that did. Positives where that Whinmoor never gave up and had more than one opportunity on goal but couldn’t make the break. Casey Meadowcroft was strong throughout and was a deserved Man of the Match. One more hard game to go then back to evenly matched sides.

| 11th December 2011 | Bedale | 15 |
Whinmoor Juniors | 0 |
| League |
A poor start saw Bedale take an early lead and they were relentless in attack. After only 9 minutes Whinmoor were 3 goals down and Bedale were owning the centre of the pitch. Whinmoor struggled to get any control and just before half time lost Guy after a crunching tackle took him out of the game.
The second half started well and Whinmoor began to get some shots on goal. It was 21 minutes before Bedale made a break and got their first in the second half. But Gartland who was outstanding in the first took position in the defence and with Kay, Cheetham and Meadowcroft in support they began to hold and boss their defensive line but as tired legs took hold in midfield they could not stop the onslaught of Bedale, who were throwing everything at them. Parker did well on the wing keeping strong and getting crosses in but Whinmoor couldn’t connect. Kay made some great on the line stops and did well in this new position but the final score of 15-0 did not reflect the second half performance.
Man of the match Callam Gartland and a close second Nathan Kay.

| 22nd January 2012 | Otley Town | 10 |
Whinmoor Juniors | 2 |
| League | Whitaker (2) |
Two tremendous goals for Jordan Whitaker and a great first performance by Adam Walker (man of the match) didn't stop the U16s from going down at Otley.
Flashes of brilliance showed Whinmoor the better side in the first half but the second half was gifted to Otley. Casey Meadowcroft continued to organise the back four and put in some strong tackles and cover play.
Nathan Kay made some darting runs but the balls were not getting through. Jack Rothera made a return in Goal and didn't disappoint. As always I applaud your commitment and regardless of my moaning proud of you all. See you all Friday for a hard training session

Pannal Sports Panthers | 6 |
| League | Gartland (2) |
| 26th February 2012 | Whinmoor Juniors | 2 |
Harrogate Railway Braves | 7 |
| League | Wilson, MacFarlane |
| 11th March 2012 | Pannal Sports | 4 |
Whinmoor Juniors | 1 |
| League | Guy |
Whinmoor met the 2nd in the league today and made them panic. Whinmoor came out strongly from the start and caused Pannal problems by prevented them from playing.
They got their chances but focus and hard tackling by the back four kept us on top. Casey was vocal as captain and Callum was dominant throughout making some world class tackles.
A lack of concentration gifted the home team their first goal on 18 minutes and again on 24 minutes.
The homes side lead didn’t reflect the games at all, and Whinmoor maintained the pressure, leading to a fine strike from Kay which the keeper pushed onto the bar, only to see
Aidan Guy react quickest and score with a great diving header on the half hour. 2-1 at the interval.
The second half started where the first left off with Whinmoor bossing the play. Robinson, Gedge, Wilson and Guy were winning all of the midfield skirmishes and this started to wind the opposition up and words and hard tackles were exchanged.
Again a momentary lack of concentration saw Pannal get a third and 10 minutes later a fourth, all against the run of play.
The game carried on being fierce and hard with plenty of encouragement from the vocal Whinmoor support. But a mis-timed challenge saw Walker unluckily red carded and 9 minutes later Robinson received a yellow.
The 10 man Whinmoor carried on dominating and no more goals were conceded. Final score 4-1.
Man of the match Callam Gartland was immense in his role but all the players threw themselves into the game and gave the best performance of the season. The manager from Pannal insisted that we say that Whinmoor were by far the best team in both halves. Pride does not cover the way Jez and Ian feel about todays performance.
